During the Dutch Design Week 2017 we visited the workshops and ateliers of Piet Hein Eek. We were surprised to find a skip filled with potential construction materials in the frontyard of the famous Dutch Upcycling Artist/Designer.
Eek is known for his work using leftover materials. We thought it to be quite interesting to, in return, use the very materials considered leftovers by him. In a dumpster diving initiative we entered his studio area and pilfered the material in front of the eyes of the Dutch Design Week visitors. Since then the scrap has been transformed into yet new objects: This year the collection “Upcycling Eek” is shown in a guerrilla exhibition in front of Eek’s studio at the Dutch Design Week 2018.
